AND

CHALLNGE

Challenge

We start in California and after 4444 kilometers we will arrive in Hawaii fuelled by lots kiwis and melted cheese!

The Inaugural Pacific Challenge officially begins 12 June 2023. Teams from all over the world will embark on a 4,444km (2,800 mile) journey from Monterey, California to Kauai, Hawaii in row boats. An extreme series of endurance races where individuals from across the globe gather annually to test themselves against Mother Nature and compete to row thousands of kilometers across the Pacific Ocean. This offers a unique atmosphere to gather together and absorb what will be a once in a lifetime adventure and experience.

Sleep deprivation, hallucinations, hunger - the ultimate test of body and mind will be balanced with a profound connection to nature; sights of marine life, adapting to the ever changing weather, energizing sun rises into glorious sunsets into mesmerizing night sky's. The team will experience deep  camaraderie, achievement, self-discovery and pride among the many experiences delivered by rowing across an ocean.

"To lead by example. To Show my kids that anything is possible."

TEAM

TEAM

The world renown Swiss delicacy of melted cheese on bread may seem strange as a rowing team name, especially when you throw a kiwi in the mix. However, we as a team are a unique combination.

An Englishman living by the Alps working with various Swiss athletes. Another Englishman who sailed to NZ, surfs the best waves whilst fixing whatever he can find in his spare time. A native Swiss international mountain guide and when the weather is bad, goes to the office as a Notary. And lastly, another Swiss born carpenter  / project manager / avid mountain bike rider.
