CHALLENGE

world`s toughest row atlatnic

4800 km of hot, fierce & diverse Atlantic ocean, racing from the volcanic shores of San Sebastian de La Gomera, Spain to paradise in Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua.

The annual race begins in early December, attracting teams from around the world. The race structure brings together an environment where teams from across the globe gather in the race village San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands. The atmosphere is electric as people help each other prepare for the challenge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. All with the same objective – to take on the unique experience of crossing an ocean in a rowing boat.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT & VALUES

C-H-E-E-S-E-E-E — Courage, Honesty, Empacy, Effort, Safety And An Epic Experience for Everyone. If you live CHEESEEE, you live well!

OUR MUSIC

Our music and the many good conversations distracted us from the sometimes monotonous daily routine and the “always same” sea. Once a day we had Kiwicoffee time, where all the gossip was told, some of which we heard over the satellite phone; it was a real housewives' gossip session.

OUR NEEDLE KING

We also had a needle king on board, where we could book physio appointments and be pampered.

OUR MOTHER NATURE

Never before have we experienced such intense sunrises and sunsets; although the moonrises and moonsets were even crazier. Ahh yes and meteorite comets - simply a breathtaking natural spectacle every day.

"We were nightriders   we went like maniacs at night time, when everybody else would be feeling tired and sleepy we always went as hard as possible at night, banging tunes, and pushing it harder than ever before."

"A happy boat is a fast boat. And wind makes us stronger!"
